The Scene

One of my favorite places to visit in Vietnam's far north is Mu Cang Chai. Terrace heights here are some of the most photogenic anywhere in the world.

This was harvest season, as you can tell from the yellow rice stalks at the woman's feet as she stands on this terrace lookout. In Black H'mong dress, she stands out perfectly, in the wind, against the seemingly endless staircases of terrace heights that make the background and the beauty that is Mu Cang Chai.
