Checkout, Ordering & Discounts

YES, this is correct!

The checkout process should be normal except for just that—we don’t require immediate payment.

Once you hit “submit order,” you’ll receive an automated email from us confirming receipt. And then, shortly after (typically in 24 hours or less) we'll send you another email, personally, to make sure everything looks correct, add any discounts (if they apply), and to confirm shipping details and times. And then, once good, we'll send you an official invoice by email with a link for easy payment.

It's an extra step, but it makes sure we are getting you just the right thing as all prints are custom and made-to-order. And, as a small business, it also gives us a chance to thank you directly for your interest and support.

If that is easiest for you, yes! If we know what you are looking for, we can create a draft order for you and then send for your review and easy payment. This works too.

Current discounts: (available through August, 2024)

  • 10% off any Small or Large Open Edition print.
  • 15% off 2 or more Small Open Edition prints. (16x24 in. size and below)
  • For Limited Editions, please contact us directly for available discounts.

Reminder: Discounts will always be applied to your order after initial checkout. Once you submit your order, we’ll send you an email to confirm related details and apply any discounts then, before requesting payment. Discounts will always be visible on your final invoice under Order Summary.

At initial checkout, you won’t see any discounts showing up just yet. Once you hit “submit order” (no payment required), we’ll then follow-up with you directly by email to confirm order details and to apply any discounts then, before sending you a link for easy payment. Your final invoice will show any discounts applied, under Order Summary. Still not seeing them? Email us quick, and we’ll help.

Also, if you are eligible for a discount but forget to ask, don't worry. We will always apply for you automatically.

Of course. Just send us a quick email at info@mattsievers.com, and we can assist.

Shipping, Framing & Receiving Prints

In most cases, yes! For print-only orders, shipping is included for free to most destinations. There may be some exceptions, where we have to charge an additional fee to cover higher than normal shipping costs. If this applies, we'll always help you confirm before requesting payment to make sure it works for you.

We ship globally, so in most cases we can ship to you but there may be some exceptions.

If you don't see your country listed at checkout, please email us and let us know. We'll see if we can add it.

Smaller prints, like the 8x12 in. and 12x18 in. sizes, will usually ship in flat protective packaging. For 16x24 in. and larger sizes, these will usually ship in a protective tube.

If you’ve decided to include framing with your order, the final artwork will ship in a protective crate.

Also, as all prints are custom and made-to-order (we do not keep inventory), the time to produce and shipping times will vary.

At times, print-only orders may arrive in as little as 1-2 weeks. On other occasions, it may take longer.

During the checkout process, and before payment, we will always give you our best estimate on when your print can ship, and also provide a tracking number once available.

For smaller prints, arriving in flat packaging, you can safely open and find your print in a clear protective sleeve. Be careful not to bend your print, of course, to avoid any damage. Also, to avoid finger prints or dirt marks, you should never touch the surface of the print itself with your bare hands.

For rolled prints coming in a tube, especially, we recommend waiting until you are ready to frame (at the frame shop, with a professional) before unrolling the print. Anytime you unroll and have to re-roll a print, to re-package again, there is the risk of bending or scratching by accident. So, ideally you unroll once at the frame shop, when ready for framing. And your framer should also have protective white cotton gloves, to protect and avoid damaging the print when handling.

If you receive a print that's damaged, please take a couple of photos and contact us immediately so we can get a replacement print sent to you right away.

This should be a very rare case, but if it happens the photos will help us confirm what likely caused the damage, so we can hopefully prevent in the future.

If you'd like to skip the time and trouble of working with a frame shop in your area, for print sizes 20x30 in. and above, we can offer framing services for an additional fee.

All framed works will ship in a protective crate, to ensure they arrive safely and are ready to hang on your wall. Buyers requesting framing will need to cover the additional packaging and shipping fees.

Please note: Framing is only available to buyers in the USA and Vietnam at this time.

Yes, and it's free! The mat and framing combination you pick for any print can have an outsized impact on how your artwork displays, so we're happy to help with any recommendations to help you get it right. You'll also want to use archival materials, when possible, as it preserves the longevity of the print. If you have any questions related, we are happy to support.

Print Types, Editions & Quality

We offer three basic types of prints, all at a fine-art level, using only high-end papers and archival inks (meaning they should last):

  • Small – Open Edition
  • Large – Open Edition
  • Large – Limited Edition

For basics on Open Edition and Limited Edition prints, please refer to the answers below for each, on what to expect. Or, for full details and specifics, please check out our dedicated page here.

Open Edition Prints (both small and large sizes) are always printed on baryta (or similar) fine art paper with archival inks, for great contrast, detail, color and longevity. Baryta papers, specifically, help to produce deep blacks and bright whites, along with an exceptional tonal range, resulting in fantastic print quality for both color and black & white images.

For Small – Open Edition sizes (16x24 in. size and smaller), all photos are always available. This means if you see a photo you like, it should always be available for purchase in these sizes.

Select photos are also available in Large – Open Edition sizes (20x30 in. size, and larger). This will depend on the photo, as many photos in larger sizes will be Limited Editions only.

For photo examples of Baryta, and more details, please visit our page on Print Quality.

Limited Edition prints are always printed on a specific version of Fujiflex Crystal Archive, that I (Matt) feel best represents my work. I consider Fujiflex to be a “magical” paper of sorts, due to the layer of crystals embedded in the print surface itself and the way light interacts with the image. Fujiflex is used by many of the highest end print shops in the world, and found in museums and galleries alike. For photography work, especially, you can get an almost three-dimensional quality at times, and realism, to go with vibrant colors, deep blacks, bright whites, and exceptional detail. Prints have a high gloss finish.

Limited Edition prints can also be made available in baryta, upon request. However, Fujiflex Crystal Archive is the default and my recommendation for all Limited Edition prints. If any questions, please ask.

For photo examples of Fujiflex, and more details, please visit our page on Print Quality.

If there's a photo you like but it's not showing up for sale, let us know. In most cases it can be made available for purchase.

We do not offer prints in wrapped canvas.

If you truly need a borderless look for your space, and if a minimalist frame (with no matting) will not do, in the USA only we can offer prints in Chomaluxe HD Metal by special request, or face-mounted acrylic, for print sizes 20x30 in. and larger.

Additional costs and fees will apply, both for the print and for shipping. It's not my first recommendation, but if it's an essential for you let us know and we can make this happen.

Signature, COA, Returns & Warranty

I do not sign the physical prints themselves, as I want the artwork to speak for itself. However, I do sign and authenticate a separate COA, for both Large Open Edition and Large Limited Edition prints.

Limited Edition buyers will also receive a small metal plaque, with the title of the image and date it was captured, to display on the frame itself (if desired). Limited Editions also come with a special collector’s kit.

All prints are guaranteed to arrive safely to your door and undamaged. If you have any issues upon receiving, please let us know immediately so we can assist. We will replace for you free of charge.

In the case of owning your print for some time, and it later becomes damaged by accident:

If you have an Open Edition print, there is no warranty on the physical print itself. But if your print is later damaged for some reason, and you are merely hoping to replace, we can always help you do so at a discounted rate very close to our own costs. We will support you in this.

If you have a Limited Edition print, you own the unique number you purchased within that edition (#1 of 30, or #11 of 30, etc.). If your print is later damaged by accident, please let us know and we can help you to replace for free (first instance) – you'll only have to pay for packaging and shipping. Any later instance would follow the same rules for Open Editions, where we will help you to replace very close to our costs.

Home owners' insurance and renters' insurance policies may also be able to help cover some costs.

Because all prints are custom and made-to-order, we do not offer returns. Anytime someone purchases a print, they are getting a print made specifically for them.

If your print arrives damaged, we will always help you to replace.

If your print is not as expected for some reason, there could always be an issue with print quality or something else. So please reach out and we'll see how we can help, if a reprint is needed. We definitely want you to be happy with your print.
