The Needles, Last Summer Glow - Cannon Beach, Oregon

The Scene

Captured on the last day of summer, Haystack Rock sits just outside the frame — off to the right. But the “needles” are great subjects in their own right. A flood of soft oranges and blues close to sunset made for a fantastic final summer sundown. The giant shadow in the foreground is from Haystack Rock itself. Beach goers add further interest to the scene, each seemingly in just the right place, enjoying the final rays of summer.
