Chickens to Market - Bhaktapur, Nepal

The Scene

In the ancient town of Bhaktapur, a man carries chickens to market. The basket is incredibly interesting in its shape, but it's ultimately the two roosters sticking their heads out (and especially the one looking forward to see what's ahead) that makes the image. With the often hilly and uneven red-orange brick streets of the old city, a basket is often preferable to a cart for carrying things.
